Talking about a; Yamaha RXS 100....

My little baby presently sat on my front drive, after a trip back from Sainsbury's.

My 1996 Honda CB 500 RR Twin sits in my house out of the rain, while I wait for my Honda CMX 250C Rebel cruiser to arrive...

My daily touring around the County is presently getting spoilt by all the wind and rain we are suffering lately!

I need to take some more Biking videos with my Go-Pro!

Come on "Summer."....where are you hiding!

Seriously considering a Honda Silver wing scooter as I can't get my leg over a saddle anymore.

....I know the feeling. Log... ;) ...!

I've reached the age now when I have to balance on one leg, grab hold of my other leg leg with both hands, and feed it over the saddle to get on (and off) my Bike without falling over....(me and and the Bike)!

...one of the reasons why I will have to get a Cruiser, now, with its low seat height!

Trying to scramble over the top of my Sports Bikes, with their seats high up in the air, to get on and off, is no longer any fun!

...I also need a bit of laid-back comfort from riding a; "Cruiser" as well... :D ...!

Getting on and off a Motor Bike should not be like negotiating an obstacle course!.... :( ...!

Paul....still waiting for the bloody rain to stop!.... ...!

P.S...I've lost the knack of "getting my leg over" since the disappearance of my last wife, many years ago!.... .... ...!

That Rebel cruiser looks great Fozzer.
Next year when my licence comes up
for renewal and if I pass the eye test
I am thinking of getting a second hand
small cruiser.

Hello Anthin!

I am presently busting a gut trying to find a nice Honda CMX 250C Rebel cruiser, but although they are quite common over in the 'States they are quite rare over here. Their owners seem to want to hang on to them...because they are so lovely!... :D ...!

Lots of 125 models around, but not many 250's!

They have been in production since 1985, and can still be purchased new (2015) in the 'States!

My other alternative was/is the Yamaha XVS 250 Dragstar Vee-Twin, but they are as rare as Hen's teeth, and quite expensive second-hand!

A bigger Cruiser (Dragstar 650cc+) would be nice, but far too heavy for lil' ol' me to manage. A 250cc would be more practical for my every day shopping and countryside cruises...and even the occasional trip on the Motorway!

I fear that Winter is approaching far too quickly, and the chance of a Summer ride on a new bike is fast slipping away....again!

My big problem is that my only means of transport is my Motor Bike, so I am limited to searching over a local distance, and no means of transporting a bike from long way away!...that needs someone with a Van!

I search on the Internet, but only a couple are advertised, and they are too far away to travel!

Never mind...must keep hoping I find one soon!

I have my eye on this one. It's 600CC and classed as a super scooter. Honda Silverwing. Low Mileage Not bad price. Notice you can get 2 6 packs under the seat. (Or a side of Beef)

Pretty wild looking scooter.

Good that you can fit a couple of half sacks under the seat.

From my observation of the various Scooters I spot, because of its rear engine and exhaust, frame, etc, covered by its fully enclosed bodywork very close to the ground, after a short while on the road they suffer very quickly and badly from dirt and corrosion, and are difficult to keep clean and shiny on the inside!
Without a regular clean, and TLC, they suffer very quickly!

Otherwise, the larger horse-power models are excellent for longer tours, two-up, in much comfort!!

@Riflemans Wife, Wendy, owns a very nice Bergman Scooter made in 125, 400, and 650cc sizes...>>> http://www.mirror.co.uk/lifestyle/motor ... ew-2688112 ..... :D ...!

Personally, I remember had great difficulty with managing the small front wheel, with its sharp castor-action, on a Douglas Vespa Scooter I tried many years ago!

If "Comfort" (and a shopping basket) is high on your list, a large scooter may fit the bill... :D ...!

Me....I prefer a pair of large diameter wheels, with a big vee-twin engine throbbing in between!

(I need something which throbs automatically nowadays).... ..... ....!

Didn't have much to do with scooters always felt unstable to me, started with Yamaha rxs100 in candy apple red next tzr125 gsx400f when I passed my test Gsxrs.
The only problem with the Beemer is the awkward indicator system it takes a bit of getting used to and what you expect to be the kill switch is the heated grips. Its nice to ride the brakes are fantastic accelerates well sounds good at the top end sounds like somebody has dropped a load of bolts in the engine at idle going to make the most of the dry weather happy days.

My lovely 1994 Honda CB 500RR Twin...>>>

Image

Which unfortunately toppled over on me whilst waiting at a road junction in the Forest of Dean some 3 years ago!
Its been parked, unused, in my house, ever since!

It reminded me that my various Sports bikes, with their high seats and weight, were finally getting difficult for me to manage safely.....

...hence the present requirement for a "Cruiser", with a low, comfy seat, and my feet FIRMLY planted flat on the ground!

"Old-Age" is finally telling on me!.... :o ....!

The original 1949 Royal Enfield 350cc Bullet!

A wonderful modern machine at the time!
