From my observation of the various Scooters I spot, because of its rear engine and exhaust, frame, etc, covered by its fully enclosed bodywork very close to the ground, after a short while on the road they suffer very quickly and badly from dirt and corrosion, and are difficult to keep clean and shiny on the inside!
Without a regular clean, and TLC, they suffer very quickly!
Otherwise, the larger horse-power models are excellent for longer tours, two-up, in much comfort!!
@Riflemans Wife, Wendy, owns a very nice Bergman Scooter made in 125, 400, and 650cc sizes...>>>

Personally, I remember had great difficulty with managing the small front wheel, with its sharp castor-action, on a Douglas Vespa Scooter I tried many years ago!
If "Comfort" (and a shopping basket) is high on your list, a large scooter may fit the bill...

Me....I prefer a pair of large diameter wheels, with a big vee-twin engine throbbing in between!
(I need something which throbs automatically nowadays)....
