I've read that there are 2 "stages" of the UIAutomationcore.dll tweak:
1 is simply placing one of the 2 vista versions in your FSX main file, and I have done both, but no good.
2 is to use a cmd prompt to "take ownership" of the Win7 versions, and cause all sorts of havoc with programs that may need them, and I haven't really been willing to try that yet.
Yes, it almost sounds like an impending hardware failure, as I've always run my settings at a level that I can't seem to anymore. I haven't a clue what happened.
I have run a multitude of benchmark programs (furmark, other dx10 stuff, some dx11 ones) but no problem. It takes them in stride, with no problems, like nothing is wrong. Run FSX, though, and the downward spiral.
I have applied the "highmemfix=1 graphics tweak in the cfg, the Affinitymask, all the normal ones, as I always have, but it just doesn't seem to help. It just started crashing one day, and nothing I can do will bring it back. Quite a riddle/mystery.
Lots of good ideas, and I thank you for your replies. I don't know what happened, or what to do to fix it. Very odd.
Fozzer: I'm even considering golf again. I tried to tell my wife that I need this for the good of our family, as it is far cheaper than me trying for my commercial pilot's license...
