Oh come on folks, where is that Winter enthusiasm?...

My goodness, I see lots of snowmobiles and snowmobiles pulling folks on snow skis, toboggan's and sleds out on the river and the bay.
There were six ice boats under full sail on the bay yesterday.
We watched Sunday as the children and parents cleared the snow off a large smooth section of the river and had a good game of pond hockey.
Now that sure beats sitting around and turning into a winter couch potato...

I am laid up with a left foot that seems to be taking a long time to heal so I can't get up to the bugsmasher field to enjoy some flying off the snow covered grass strip in the Piper Super Cub and American Champion Citabria both on wheel/skis that a couple of Flying Farmers own.
They like to take me flying for a couple of good tall tales and we buzz the ice fishing huts and snowmobilers...

Full Ski Down and enough power to keep the tail up while moving over a frozen body of water, seeing the snow and ice blow past, hearing the snow and ice bounce off the fabric and feeling the vibrations flow through the aircraft as you apply Take Off Power for another Go Around...Wow...what a thrill...

If you have not flown off Floats, Amphibious Floats, Wheels/Skis or Skis then get out there and purchase an hour or more with an Instructor. You are missing so much...believe me.
Unless you have a Motion Simulator your Desk Top Unit can not simulate the thrill and feeling of real aviating.
Now me thinks I shall ask the Old Girl if I can put the Christmas Tree back up...
