OK,, Who here believes (In there heart of hearts) that if the situation should ever arise, They could fly and/or land
a G/A class aircraft with only there Flight-Sim Experience.

I for one have no doubt I could do it. 8-)

Together with flying my trusty Cessna 150/152 every day since 1998, in the various MS Flight Sims, and my occasional "trial flights" in the local Club's Cessna 150/152's, I feel confident enough now to take-off, cruise around, and land one of the beautiful little babies, if the situation demanded it....

...remembering, if the situation demanded it, I would have no other choice!... ;) ....!

It is often agreed that it is actually easier to fly the real Cessna 150/152 than the Flight Sim version...so I have a good start!... :D ...!

That's a good one. I guess with a certain amount of FS exp, we could fly OK. Landing would be scary as hell, but still do-able if you can keep your cool. Finding an airport or someplace
to safely land could be a problem.

One way to find out is in flight with a pilot ready to take over if you freeze up. Of course, with no pilot, well, good luck.

I personally could probably fly straight and level, maybe a few banks, but landing, really not sure.

Saw a cartoon once, flight attendant comes out of the cockpit of a jet liner, gets on the intercom, and asks, "Does anyone know Microsoft Flight Simulator?"

Under calm sunny weather, I think that any of us, with a bit of flight sim experience, could manage a take off.

Under calm sunny weather I think that a majority of us, with a fair amount of flight sim experience, could land something in the way of a small Cessna.

But with bad winds and heavy overcast or fog.....

I think that I could at least get to the airport under heavy overcast or fog using instruments.

There would be only 3 things that I might need
1 - NO mountains.
2 - Heavy, reinforced tires, for all the bouncing those stupid planes always seem to do. :D
3 - No passengers! All that screaming would be a distraction.

As for the bad winds. Can you actually twist around enough in those small planes to kiss your a$$ goodbye?

Go watch comedian Kenan Thompson land a 747-400 at the end of SNAKES ON A PLANE if you want to see how this scenario might play out.

You even get to hear (for the millionth time) "It's not a video game, alright. It's a flight simulator!"
