Under calm sunny weather, I think that any of us, with a bit of flight sim experience, could manage a take off.
Under calm sunny weather I think that a majority of us, with a fair amount of flight sim experience, could land something in the way of a small Cessna.
But with bad winds and heavy overcast or fog.....I think that I could at least get to the airport under heavy overcast or fog using instruments.
There would be only 3 things that I might need
1 - NO mountains.
2 - Heavy, reinforced tires, for all the bouncing those stupid planes always seem to do.
3 - No passengers! All that screaming would be a distraction.

As for the bad winds. Can you actually twist around enough in those small planes to kiss your a$$ goodbye?
