Flew from Tokyo to Detroit last night
For some reason I never really cared for the newest Northwest livery. Luckly a couple of the old ones are still flying
One of the rare times I am first in line for departure and then I have to wait on arrivals
Cathay Pacific A330 almost down and way off in the distance is a Northwest A330 who I have to wait on as well...
Having a rather bumpy takeoff. Heavy turbulence is expected till above 14,000 feet. The Cathay is almost parked and the Northwest (in the not so great new colors) is heading in.

Still having a rough climb. Nice lighting though

Its been a long flight. There were a couple of close calls with other flights, especialy over Anchorage. On decent, dont let these few clouds fool you. By the time we reach Detroit visibility is expected to be less then 1/2 a mile.

Not much wind but nearly impossible to see. Starting to pull up for a go around. Full ILS but still managed to overshoot half the runway. Not looking to repeat the Toronto disaster I found it better to have another go...Second approch was picture perfect and we pulled up to the gate right on schedule
