And yes, Mach speeds depend on air pressure I believe....I'm no expert though. It basically will be a lower knot speed at higher atitude but you'll be moving extremely quick.
I think fs2004 has modelled the sound barrier because I have the freeware effects off the sound barrier(vapour and boom) on my military jets and it happens at different speeds depending on the conditions.
