757 Above the Desert

Postby YodaNYC » Tue Jul 20, 2004 3:04 pm

Departing Phoenix Sky Harbor enroute to San Diego's Lindbergh International.  After a short layover, will be taking to the skies again for the redeye flight to New York City...

Holding short at runway 26 with an Atlanta bound Delta 737 on the rollout...
Image

Climbing out of the Phoenix area and turning toward the Blythe VOR...
Image

Cruising at FL200 high above the desert floor.  In just a few moments we will intersect the Imperial VOR and begin our descent into the San Diego area...clear skies and light winds out of the southwest await our arrival...
Image

Established on the localizer and cleared for landing on runway 27...
Image

Balboa Park is directly below us as we glide down toward the runway...
Image

Taxiing toward the gate where we offload the passengers and get ready for tonight's redeye home to the East Coast...

That approach into SAN is one of my favorites in both real world and in flight sim.

I flew in to SD recently on F9.  Fantastic Approach, isnt it!  You can now see the Padres' New ballpark, PetCo Park, on the approach, as well as the USS Midway, CV-41, which was recently brought out of several years of retirement in Washington State and docked as a museum at the harbor front. The USS Nimitz is there too, in for maintenance after 8.5 months at sea.

I assume you're using FS2002?  I fly in ACOF now and I was confused as to how M$ could leave out the Coronado Bridge- it's such a major piece of scenery.  I got a pack of scenery objects for the city here, but it's still not there.  Anybody else have it?

Enough about the city, I Love the shots and the planes, too!
