On My Way (Don't Know Where I'm Going) 22

Postby jordonj » Sun Jul 18, 2004 1:46 pm

Well, there were thunderstorms in Tucson, but I decided to brave it anyways.  The storms were to the South and I wanted to head NorthEast to Las Vegas...

The sun was setting and made for some nice shadows along the lanscape.

Image

As I headed North, I came across this.  It made for a spectacular cloudscape, but it also resembled an illustration from a story I was reading...one about the gateway to Hell.  :o  To borrow a cliched phrase: I've got a bad feeling about this... :-/

Image

Well it didn't thunder near me (tank Gott!) but I did see lightning flash in front of me once and if I thought the turbulence was bad on the last leg, it was way worse this time! In the headwind, it was all I could do to keep the plane from tipping, let alone keep it level!

I got past the storm (and dodged the cloud by my 11:00) and came into a calm.

Approaching the strip...

After all that flying, that fish restaurant is making me hungry...

Thanks for looking! ;D
