Great shots, Hagar! You're right - we sometimes forget how good CFS was for its time - and even now; it compares. :)

Just curious - what were you flying when you took the RL pic?

Thanks again for the comments. The aircraft is a Jodel - a little French aeroplane that's very popular in the UK. The upturned wingtips should give it away. I wasn't flying it, just went along for the ride. I haven't done any serious flying for many years but I never turn down the offer of a trip. ;)
I posted my little adventure in the Photos forum some time ago. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=photos;action=display;num=1085324758;start=0

Part 2 here. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=photos;action=display;num=1085332579

PS. Good luck Mohawk. ;)

Hi Hagar

A good reminder of where we have been  ;)

From memory, CFs came out around the same time as FS98 - which in itself was a huge step forward.

Now. I will be a bit nostalgic, if I may (and if others will tolerate  :) )...............

I first saw flight simming on a computer around 1980(?) with the Spectrum and then the Commodore 64 with 'Solo Flight'. The sky was blue and the ground was green and you had a very simple view from the cockpit. At the time, this was fantastic! Previously, I could only play 'pong' and then 'tank' on the Atari console........

Anyway, I first experienced FS on the pc in 1986, whilst in the States. Shortly after returning home to the UK I bought an Atari ST with FS and Falcon. At the time I was amazed at what I could do. I think that the screen resolution was 320 by something in 16 colours. But it was amazing at the time!  ;)

Then came the advance to 256 colours....wow!!!!!!!

But, back to the subject, it was FS98 and CFS which took flightsimming on the pc to a new dimension. Even today these programmes are great to use. The scenery and cockpits in CFS have been improved upon, but they remain great fun to use!  ;D

Thanks for the reminder Hagar.

Cheers Paul
