Pole to Pole! pt.3

Postby Staiduk » Sat Jul 03, 2004 8:37 pm

Pt. 2 is here

Day 17.
Well; we replaced the needle valve and put the machine back together. After run-testing; the FBO's flight mechanic certified the engine airworthy again; so we threw out stuff aboard and took off at 4:00. We're more than close enough to Miami - you can practically see it from here - to bypass it and head right on to Cuba.

Takeoff from Palm Beach Co.

Soon, we left the mainland behind; the green of the Atlantic slowly changing to the sapphire blue of the Caribbean.

Goodbye, North America!

As I reached Cuba; I turned east along the coast; my ultimate destination Las Tunas.

Day 18

Finally! A day with no turbulence!
Well; there was a bit, but easily and comfortably dealt with. Don't get me wrong; this big beast can easily handle whatever the atmosphere wants to throw at it; but my wrist is starting to get sore.
