Coastal UK (Leg2a)

Postby eno » Sun Jun 06, 2004 9:56 am

Off on the second leg of my UK coastal trip.
EGHD (Plymouth) to EGHH (Bournemouth) However as will be explained later this leg was split in two.

Ready for off at dawn in Plymouth 05.30ish BST all set for the hob from Devonshire into Dorset.
Image
The River Tamar border between Cornwall on the right and Devon on the left. The road and rail bridges. The rail bridge was built by Isanbard Kingdom Brunel and carries what was his Great Western Railway between the two counties.
Image
Now over Devonport Naval dockyards where most of the UK's navy is refitted and built including our nuclear subs.
Image
Continuing eastward along the cost as the sun rises above Dartmoor.
Image
Passing over the seaside towns of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay
Image
The sun comming up was heating things rapidly and it started to get a little bumpy.. too bumpy for the old bird to handle  so I headed up the River Exe and made an unexpected breakfast stop at Exeter.(EGTE)

I would continue the flight in the afternoon when things had calmed down a bit.

Heres a few links for Plymouth, Exeter and Devonshire

What mesh and scenery are you using? I've always wanted the southwest to look like this in FS.

P.s. It seems your flying a similar route to my round the uk coast trip i started a couple of years ago. I gave up around the Isle of wright I believe. ::) ;D

The scenery for Plymouth is from Avsim... the rest is just the FS2002 default  :-[ which is rather boring... so thats why I've added the links. Just thought Id do a little PR for the good old UK.

Ozzy ya have to fly this early to avoid nutters like you  :P :P :P :P ;D

cheers
