Retracing D-Day

Postby Stormtropper » Sat Jun 05, 2004 11:39 pm

Its June 6, 2004, the 60th anniversairy of the "Great Crusade." Here is my flight from England to Normandy, believe it or not, this is accutally the first time I flew to the Normandy beaches in FS9. Enjoy.

Over normandy, what was once a bloody battlefield, today is a growing and prosperous community.

Low pass over Omaha

I like free things, and a free plane wash is no exception ;D

Turning into Utah

Landing at Cherbourg, France

Gasing up for the return trip, man nowdays the gas is expensive and is self-service

Well the return trip have to be delayed, a very nice French farmer (and his daughters), offered to get me a drink.

Hope you enjoyed

Wow, nice shots! But you get them down so tiny... *squints* ::)  2nd shot (not including map) is awesome. Nice job.  ;D

Nice job Stormtropper.

I was thinking of making that flight in a DC-3 (C47) to recreate what actually happened 60 years ago

Thanks guys!

BTW, Ozzy, I wasn't aware of the 8 shots per thread rule, I just though I can't get over 500kb. Thats why I made them so small.

Cheers
