*** Trans - USA Adventure Leg 7 *** Continued!

Postby Cherokee_6 » Mon May 31, 2004 4:42 pm

Well...it took a couple days longer then I expected but I managed to get the mechanic to finish the repairs and I was on my way again!

To complete this Leg, I had another 380 nm's to Brownsville...

Flight path for the remainder of this leg...
Image

After testing the engine numerous times by giving her full power and going up and down the runway a few times, I had the confidence that it was good to go!
Gave her full power from the farthest tip of the tarmac and she lifted off without any hiccups! (thank the lord! !) ;D
Image

I could not forget about the rancher who was more then generous....did a fly-by with the smoke on to say a final farewell!
Image

For a large portion of this leg, I was flying over Mexico! The terrain was beautiful and the weather was hot! The hot temperatures made the air rather bumpy but I didn't care that much...I was just happy the engine was running smoothly!  ;D ;D
Image

On approach to Brownsville, was able to follow the winding waters of the Rio Grande! As the sun was setting it made for a real nice approach....
Image

Passing by the city of Brownsville....lining her up with Runway 13
Image

There was a bit of cross wind which made things a little tricky...but I was able to get her down with only a little smoke... ;D
Image

Got her secured and parked ok....I plan on having the mechanic at the airport take another look at the engine...(not that I don't trust a farm equipment mechanic... ;) ;) ;) )

Thanks for watching....comments/suggestions always welcome!!
