In memory

Postby ozzy72 » Mon May 31, 2004 2:27 pm

Let us not forget that there were young men on both sides fighting for their lives, whether right or wrong many paid the ultimate price, some never knew better, some fought for honour not some political ideal... I know of no veteran who holds a grudge against his foe from these times (or indeed from most wars), let us remember all the brave boys who did their duty as best they could irrespective of their uniform...

Your words show that our generation is ready to forgive but never forget...

Let the memory of those young souls remind us of the fragility of that little thing called peace.

Aye, thats just so. It is a bitter thing when us men have to resort to blowing each others brains out over usually stupid issues or just becasue of one or two stupid crackpots get into power. Man never seems to learn his mistakes and goes on to make the same ones.
Oh for worldwide peace!

Nice shots. Yrs are always good Ozzy. ::) I still haven't posted any here yet. :-[ ::)

Very nice pics and thoughts.

We do need to remember that the average soldier on the "other" side is spurred by the same love of country and patriotism as those on our side.

Both should be equally honoured for their dedication and sacrifice.
