Oddness at Heathrow

Postby Smoke2much » Thu May 13, 2004 9:04 am

I was inspired yesterday evening to switch on AI traffic after viewing Mr Bones' fantastic escort shots.

I flew my Gloster Meteor in Horsham St Faith colours from Norwich Airport which is Horsham St Faith down to Heathrow to buzz some of the heavy boys.

On arrival I had only 50% fuel left so I landed to refuel, on taxiing past a row of the heavies I noticed something odd.....

Please note that I haven't mucked around in afcad or added any extra traffic, I usually have it all switched off to increase frame rate.

I have crash detect switched on and discovered that you can taxi through this building with no adverse effects.

Funny old world.

That would be Ostrich Airlines I believe.

(Technically "Emu Airlines", because Ostriches don't really do that, it's the Emu that does.)
Great edit, Bob.

Heathrow.....  We have a problem.

It would seem that the Heathrow Afcad needs some adjustment.

Is this the default scenery or an update? If it's an update there might be an existing AFCAD file to go with it.

I haven't used AFCAD for a long time. It shouldn't be difficult to reposition that parking gate yourself. That's if you fly into Heathrow enough for it to bother you. Some things just ain't worth worrying about. ;)

You argue a convincing case Doug.  I just felt that perhaps M$ should have paid a little more attention to one of the busiest airports in the world.  I have since switched off the AI traffic and may never go back so it bothers me not. :P

Will, don't be discouraged!  I absolutely love my AI traffic from PAI....wouldn't go back for all the money in the world!
