Rescue at Sea

Postby Scottler » Wed May 12, 2004 1:44 pm

Members of the Washington Air National Guard's 66th Aviation Brigade thought they were on a routine training mission when they were dispatched to the scene of a passenger aboard a cruise ship travelling through Puget Sound Wednesday.

The passenger, who has not yet been identified, complained of having extreme chest pains, and was immediately transported via helicopter to the University of Washington Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition.

Soldiers were lowered to the upper deck of the ship via a cable lowered out the side of the helicopter, a technique known as fast roping.

Editor's note;  Pay no attention to the graphic quality...I was tweaking some settings when I decided to try this, so I had a lot of stuff turned way down.  lol  (Why are those the times I get good shots?)
Great edit, Bob.

Hey no problem.  I saw your house down there and thought, "We should go buzz the chimney."

Glad to be of service.
