Dawn Patrol.

Postby eno » Fri May 07, 2004 4:05 am

[glb]TOP SECRET[/glb]
Mission: Operation Suprise.
Aircraft .... F16
Briefing.....Intercept and escort any aircraft venturing within 5nm or into a no fly zone over the Southern part of the Irish sea and parts of the Atlantic.
Reason..... British and US Navy units are testing a new ship to ship missile.
C.A.P.s to start at first light and continue through out daylight hours.
It is vital that the patrol area is not violated.
NOTAMs have been issued for the NO FLY zone for the last 3 months so any violation should be seen as a threat to security.
LETHAL FORCE IS AUTHORISED !

04.30 GMT Off and away at first light.
Image
04.41 First contact ....Radio contact made and aircraft resumed Flight Plan.
Image
04.56 Radio and navigation problems had caused this Dash to stray ... I escorted him to Dublin.
Image
05.29 Wave to the passengers .... this MD80 thought that the no fly zone only applied to altitudes below FL300
Image05.32 Powering away to next contact..
Image
05.40 The poor guy in the Cessna didnt expect this... his transponder was playing up and he was showing as a Russian transport aircraft ... he was well outside the No Fly but was seen as a threat .... I think he required a change of trousers when he landed.  :o

06.00 returned to base for debrief and breakfast. ;D
