My First complete Repaint

Postby fido » Tue May 04, 2004 7:37 am

This is my very first complete repaint, the Coursair is a F4U-1A and is based on an aircraft of No.17 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force based on Guadalcanal in August 1944. To avoid transpositions, I did use artistic license with the numbering of the aircraft, the real number was 315. I am posting these pictures in hopes of receiving constructive criticism. Thanks for your time.

Fido

Nice one Fido. The weathering is excellent. One thing you might like to check. I believe the British Pacific Fleet aircraft had the roundel on one wing only, exactly like the US markings.

Hi Fido, great work, but I'm going to agree with Hagar on this markings issue, I'm sure he is right....

Awsome work Fido.

But remember: always use a good primer before the finishing coat! Stops bladdering!  ;)  ;D  ;D

Fido old chap, nice to see you around ;D I was going to agree with Hagar and Ozzy about the markings but I've just checked against a photo of an RNZAF Corsair and it does have markings over and under both wings.
Very nice repaint pal, please upload it.

OK. I stand corrected. I should have checked first but thought it worth mentioning. Knowing Fido I'm sure he researched it carefully. Well done. ;)
