At last, a real Spitfire for CFS3 ;). Lets take a ride with Kiwi Ace, Wing Commander Colin Grey in his Spitfire MkXIVc.

I see something down there, lets take a closer look.

Air to air time. Will this Spit live up to my expectations?

I put a few rounds into one and turn away before I run into him. I never saw the one that passed right under my nose until I took this screen shot!

I catch up with the first one again and finish him off. He starts trailing smoke and goes down.

Hehehe. I was going to drop you a PM telling you of this bird. ;D

Nice shots. And shooting for that matter. I shall probably pick it up myself sometime in the week.

But honestly now, does it really beat using the Tempest in a dogfight?

If I'm totally honest Woody, the Tempest is far more stable and harder hitting. The Spit is faster and I found myself having to throttle back to stop myself running into my target where usually I have to fly full throttle and hit the WEP all the time. I should also add that it has the propper slipper tanks also rather than those Mustang tanks on the MkIX.

I wonder how long it'd be before we saw Hawker and the infamous droptanks! ;D All in fun, but they do bother you don't they? ;)

Great shots HawkerTempest5. ;D For a second I actually thought you had posted pictures of a Fairey Firefly.  Then I remembered that the Firefly wasn't the only plane with a Griffon engine.  How could I forget the Spitfire MkXIV?

Well, for the first time in about three months, I now have the desire to go fly CFS3.

Yeah, they do. I know I go on about it. Sometimes I think I forget it's just a sim. It's the Warbird enthusiast in me talking I think.
(P.S. I didn't mention that the MkXIV shouldn't have a solid arial mast did I ;))

Well, for the first time in about three months, I now have the desire to go fly CFS3.  Now see what you've done!  If it had a bubble canopy, I would have to excuse myself for a few weeks.

Pip old chap, I hear a whisper that a bubble top is on the way ;D Next one should be an "E" wing version.

Thanks for all the comments chaps :)

Pippin, I am guessing CFS3 and I think by the same chaps who did this one. I did hear F Mk21 mentioned also. Hope so ;D
