Discovery Passage

Postby Rifleman » Wed Apr 21, 2004 9:03 am

As you pass to the north between the mainland and Vancouver Island, you will need to go through Discovery Passage to get to the open waters of the Pacific........it starts just north of Campbell River...........so........
We took off from Cam-Riv to head out and see some of the sights afforded by this area.........went with a friend to ensure that if one of us went down, someone would be told about it...........

Right after take-off, I waited above while the full wing cub rose to meet me........
Image

..........keep an eye open, someone might be up here !
Image

........heading south and looking east, we can see the mainland mountains in the distance........
Image

.............from here, we can see south and the mountains of my island home.......
Image

..........well out over the Passage here, we have a closer view of the Coastal Range mountains on the mainland.....
Image

..........as we head back to the field, its never too late to catch up on some "Ozzy" flying............
Image

............Wheels down first then allow the tail to settle......not sure why KCFlyer decided to land at the far end, as the first one to the pumps gets to tie down first also...........
Image

............What a time.....some close formation in the air, then close formation with the Av-Gas pump..........all done but the cleanup........
