Battlefield Vietnam: Operation Game Warden Part 1

Postby ATI_7500 » Wed Apr 14, 2004 2:31 pm

Alright, here are some pics of a typical match in BF:V. I played with bots (AI controlled players), not online.
I mostly concentrated on shooting pics (and VC...hahaha-ha. ::)),otherwise,I would have sit in one the Hueys all the time.

The map is "Operation Game Warden".
The objective: Conquering as many villages as possible and holding them against the Vietcong.

The beginning of the match: Those damned bots really "stole" my Huey! Argh! But nevermind...

...there are still some PBRs to use. Current radio song: "The Letter". :)

Conquering the first village by standing next to the flag in its centre:

Charlie seems to be quite active, a Mi-8 is circling around the battlefield.

More in part 2 and 3.

Part two

Sorry, but this proves it for me. It's not a patch on Vietcong. I'll post some shots sometime in the week. In the mean time, here are some dancing Hueys...

a) No,flyboy,I can't. But I've heard that towels could help at least a bit. ;D

b) Never watched "Married with children",bm_727? ;)

c) But you can't use any vehicles yourself in Vietcong,Woody. On the other hand, the jungle looks far better than in BFV...

Thats not strictly true. In Vietcong you can find yourself driving Jeeps, sitting in Huey's and sitting in the gunners seat in Hueys. Its just that you can only do this when the game allows you to.

Whats more the Jungles are absolutely fantastic. Every shadow looks like an enemy almost and you've really got to look out for the punji traps. You need to use the cover avaliable, cause if you stick your head over a rock at the wrong moment, your dead.

And when your up close and personal, the VC with the double barrelled shotgun is going to decorate the wall with you if you don't get the first shot in.

Of course, things get really hairy when you've run out of ammo and your only choice is to draw your knife and charge.....  ;D Well, it sometimes works. :P

That screenshot is from a cut scene though. But the graphics in the game are exactly the same.

Whats more, you know when you've hit upon a really unbiased game when some of the weapons the enemy are using against you are better than your own.

So, your creeping through the jungle, M16 up and ready, the Doors on the Hifi, searching for that tell tale straw hat... Fantastic game. 8)
