In order to show the link I'll put it backwards so it won't refer to a location on here.....[/img] is the part which ends the link to an image and [img] is the part for the beginning of an image pointer......
.........when you specify an image name, you have to use an extension after the filename....either .jpg or .bmp or .gif and sometimes you even have to use .JPG if you can't get your image to show after you load it to the server at .....
