French Freeware II

Postby ATI_7500 » Sun Mar 21, 2004 10:05 am

Alright,here's the second great release,exclusively on francesim.com.

Part II: The Beech Twin Bonanza

The aircraft is a nice little masterpiece from Eric Dantes and the paint scheme represents "Jojo",the personal airplane of a famous french singer from the 1960s and 70s, Jaques Brel.

I took it on a quite short hop from Perpignan to an airfield Spain, just fifty miles southwest.

A quite nice day in Perpignan. "Ideal for some lazy Sunday flying", I think as I approach the "Twin Bonnie",which is sitting peacefully on the apron.

I request taxi and departure clearance from the tower and make myself on the way to Rway 31R. There ain't much traffic here, just some Dash 8 and 737 are sitting near the terminal. As I watch this C208 coming in,I consider smoking a Gauloises until I'm cleared for take-off.
Image

But the Cessna left the runway quite quickly,so I dumped my plan and prepared for take-off instead. Flaps down one notch...full throttle...V1...airborne...gear up.
Image

Instead of heading directly to the spanish airfield,I decide to visit the Pyrenean (sp?) mountains first. with the Mediterranean Sea in the back, I'm heading for the mountains.
Image

The mountains aren't that high, and you don't have the spectacular valleys like in British Columbia...
Image

...but some of the mountains are high enough for still having some snow on their top.
Image

I leave the mountains behind and head for the sea, looking for the airfield.
Image

I've spotted it,so I turn in for the approach.

Smooth landing,I assume...

Parked and secured. I'll now go to the next village in order to have some Paella and a nice siesta. ;D

About the Twin Bonanza:
As you can see,an excellent exterior model. The virtual cabin is well modeled, too and it's equiped with gimmicks like the CD radio or a photo of Jaques Brel in the back.
And if you know the Robin DR400,you might also no the "Bonnies" pilot...;)

Download the Twin Bonanza here.
Readme,checklists in French.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
