Well there ya go then!

You'll know what I mean when I say I'm feeling pi**ed off and knackered so I just took a quick flight out from Martha's Vineyard to the Provincetown carrier - and all these F16s turned up.

It's not the content, but the quality that amazes me! Those shots are amazing! :-)

Trouble is finding enough different suitable aircraft.

Houston carrier has got F14s
Florida Keys carrier has got Phantoms

so that's alright.

But then couldn't find anything else that came up to scratch. Tried F18 but the models available are just not quite good and detailed enough - so as the F16 model is soooo good I plumped for that for the carrier off Massachusetts. OK OK, but it's great to watch working off the carrier and in the circuit.

Maybe I'll look at the new Prowler if and when I get some time, but doubtful whether I'd be able to make a static which I'd need as there probably isn't an old FS98/2000 model available, but I'll check anyway.

BTW thanks for the comments about the shots. Due to a disk crash I've just reinstalled from clean and I'm getting my best graphics ever. Card is one of NVidia's best (IMHO) and most underrated - the GeForce 3 Ti 200 with only 64MB RAM on board. It has the 53.03 drivers in XP Pro, it's overclocked (using Coolbits) and I only have a target FR of 15 (all you guys with FRs locked at 40 and 50 plus are just plain nuts - sorry ??? ) so my system is allocating its resources pretty efficiently. I've got ALL sliders totally maxed and although I've left my terrain min and max dem_areas at 10 and 100 respectively I've set TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21
and
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=200

which give me nice and pretty responsive ground textures. All round I'm pretty happy and with all the problems that people are having with the new ATIs etc there's no way I'm trading the card in just yet or for the foreseeable future. Folks, you don't need to spend a fortune to get good pics!

Gotta get back to work now and will maybe drop back in again in the next few days.

Good to be back (even just for a quick visit) and I'll see y'all then

Roger

Really Great Roger............and very different. Those two pilots in the Aero Commander look a bit scared with all those jet blasts going on around them!  ;D

Roger... ;D...!
Whaddya mean "Younger guys"...?
I'm with Andrew on this one.... 8)...!
All this rushing around in smelly kerosene filled jet planes and trying to land on a aircraft carrier using a hook to locate a piece of string stretched across the deck is much too stressfull... >:(...!
Young Andrew and I are off to do a spot of quiet fishing in Alaska in our DH Beaver float planes.. 8)...!
Peaceful senerity...
...and a nice fish supper... ;D...!
LOL...!

Cheers Roger... ;D...!

Paul.

You old fibber.

Is that Paul 'Evil Knievel' Fosbery speaking - the only pensioner around with blisters on his bum from cornering too fast on a high powered superbike?

Fantabulous... ;D... ;D...;D...!

Pssss... ;)...!
Due to my recent 70th. birthday and the necessity to re-new my licence every three years now, I have been advised by my insurance company to fit out-rigger wheels to my super-bikes now to prevent me from falling asleep and falling off... ::)...!
...and visit my doctor at regular intervals to check if I still have a full set of marbles.. ::)...!
...and to take up fishing instead... :'(...!

Buggar that for a game of flippin' soldiers... ;D... ;D... ;D...!

So I've packed my bike up in the DH Beaver, fitted chains to the wheels for a bit of snow-mobile-ing and a spot of fishing in Alaska... 8)...!

Cheers Roger me ol' mate... ;D...!

Paul....marbles bag, three-quarters full.... ;D...!
...(a quarter empty)... :'(...!
