Spitfire MkIa

Postby HawkerTempest5 » Sun Jan 25, 2004 8:00 am

This is the recent YAS (Yet another Spitfire) MkIa for CFS2. Test flight in FS2K2

Ready for the off. Pilots door opens with engine off.

Fast and low as I make a pass over the airfield.
Image
It comes with a very nice panel, but the included panel is for a later cannon armed Spit, shame. I also seem to be missing a gauge. Nice VC included though.
Image
Over the coast. The classic Spitfire shape is well modelled.
Image
The underside is well detailed and the Sky Type S colour is not a bad match. You can also see the IFF antenna here, something not often included in FS Spits.
Image
On a Knife-edge.
Image
On finals. Deploying flap at any speed brought on a nosedive, so I used them for the shots only as it landed without them, again a shame, but this could be a 2K2 glitch.
Image
A nice feature is the working flap and undercarriage indicator, another feature not often included, even on Paul Rebuffat's excellent Spits!

Nice shots Roger, I've just downloaded this this morning, and I haven't installed it in CFS2 yet. Looks nice ;)

PS. I think the flap thing is a compatibility problem, it might be worth talking to Hagar ;)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
