Thanks to all of you.  I think I will go with Hagar's suggestion, a dummy panel.cfg.

As for the sound files, the only place I could find the original version of this aircraft was over at NoNodes.  The filename is h1bdc03.zip.  Give that a listen and tell me it doesn't have POWER!

Well done Ender. Please don't feel forced to do this. As I said, it's your decision.

I feel strongly on this subject & admit that I don't like the way things in this hobby have turned out over the last couple of years. In many cases I think the old ways were far better. I used to enjoy downloading an aircraft & customising it with panel & sound. If there was nothing suitable I would try creating my own. That's how I first became interested in panels, repainting textures & eventually creating my own aircraft.

It's all far too complicated now to expect a designer working alone to be good at everything. Creating the visual model is difficult enough without realistic textures, custom panel/gauges, realistic sound, authentic flight dynamics & suchlike. These are best left to specialists in those areas. The only way to produce a worthwhile complete all-in package is to work as a team. IMHO

Well Hagar.

Well, for me, I rarely need a team now-a-days.

When I first finished Project Mercedes, no succeeded in helping me. The only person who ever did succeed in helping me was Silent with his pics and sound files.

That doesn't seem much like a team, does it? 2 people as a team and one is putting a lot more work than the other. But at least it was a team.

Now with Project Porsche.

Again, there was only one person who helped and that was BMan. He helped find me some great photo pics.

From there on, I am on my own.

Hey Ender, that's a great plane. Hey Ozzy, that plane is no secret. It was revealed LONG before you even thought of showing those pics. ::)

Ender, I know how you feel when it comes to sounds. If you have no luck looking for a decent sound pack, I would suggest that you start learning how to program sound files. The FS2002 SDK's show you how it's done.

And just like you, I am never going to release my finished product UNTIL I have my hands on a 2D panel. And I'm looking for the photorealistic ones.

Well Katahu. You must be unique. I'm talking about us ordinary mortals who obviously lack your talents. :P

Hagar, do you have any idea how long it took me to get those talents?

years ......years.....YEARS!!!!!!!!!! ;D

During those years, I had to suffer failures, dead ends, and create models that later ended up in the recycling bin and never even came close to being a part of FS.

I even had to read tutorials from websites that most of you never heard about until I gave out the URL's. Tutorials that a couple of you would consider useless for FS.

And the list goes on. ::)

Spare me the details Katahu. This might surprise you but I can assure you we've all been there, some of us long before you got involved in this hobby.. :o

No offence I'm sure but you seem to have an extremely high opinion of your own abilities & importance. Maybe I'm wrong & this is the just way you come over. ::)

BTW Hagar,

I'm not that unique. I think I saw someone else in these forums [very long ago] that posted a pic of his own car. I think it was a Farrari.

His car looked complete and it was an in-game screenshot from FS2002.

However, I'm surprised that the guy [whoever he was] never showed that car again ever since.

That car looked so good that if he ever released it, my Mercedes would have been ignored and neglected.

After seeing that in-game screenshot, I got hooked.
