It still needs a panel and sound pack, and until I get both of those done (they have to be unique) I won't release the aircraft.

Of course, this means that I may NEVER release it, as I have recently run out of time to do any FS stuff . . . ::)

This would be a shame. ::) Sign of the times I'm afraid. Expectations are so high nowadays - far too high. IMHO

A short while ago you would have released it with aliased panel & sound & thought nothing of it. The users would have been delighted with it as it was. Sooner or later another designer would post a panel for it. Then someone would decide it could do with a decent sound pack & so on. All would have been comparatively small downloads. Which method do you think is better? I know what I think. ::) 8)

Well, I would do an alias for the panel, but there isn't anything in the default FS that matches it.  The panel is fairly unique, and has a really nice 3 axis autopilot, so it would be a shame to give it anything less.

As for the sound pack, can you think of a default prop in FS that sounds like it has a dragon lurking under the hood?  The H-1's engine had a sound much like a very large diesel truck revving up.  I am really pleased with the one included in the FS2000 version of this aircraft, and I even tried to contact the original creator of the sounds.  Never got a response though . . .

In both cases I would have aliased it to the default C182. You could recommend the original sound pack in the Readme if anyone wished to install it separately. This is how it was done in the old days. Nobody minded.

It might not go down so well now. As I said before, it's a sign of the times. There must be plenty of budding designers who never upload their files because of this comparatively recent trend for complete packages involving huge downloads. This is Freeware for goodness sake. Your H-1 is only one example of what we could be missing because of this ridiculous situation. ::) >:(

Well, there's another reason for the panel not being aliased.  It has a DVC, so I would need to make a panel anyway.  And why not make a full panel?

I can't wait to get my (virtual) hands on it!  It looks great!

You know, you could always release it without the panel, and proper sound.  Then continue to work on them and release them as an update?  Just a thought...I wouldn't mind no panel, or the wrong engine sound.

Again, it looks stunning, and I can't wait!
