Trans - Canada Adventure Leg 15

Postby Cherokee_6 » Mon Dec 08, 2003 10:49 am

In my eagerness to see the light of day again, I kept my stay in Resolute to only a couple days. After enjoying a more luxurious motel and hearty meal then I have been used to in the past couple weeks, I decided to keep heading south.

My destination for this leg was to get to Cambridge Bay. Not knowing what was there, I packed some extra supplies and super hot coffee and headed out to the baron.

Current location...

Details for this leg....

Again, not knowing what awaits me at Cambridge Bay, I decided to fuel up.
Image

Got her lined up and ready to roll....
Image

As I lifted off the ground, I could not help but notice how clear the night was! The stars were incredibly bright!
Image

Well, well, well, here is an old friend that I have not seen in a long time. I thought that only the sun does not rise in the north this time of year, but neither does the moon! I must be getting farther south!!
Image

COULD IT BE?!?! OH YA! The first rays of daylight in almost 2 weeks!! Man was this ever a welcomed site!  ;D After seeing this low dim of sunlight, I was completely rejuvinated and felt like "b-lining" it straight south as far as I could go!
Image

I spotted Cambridge Bay and got her lined up for final...
Image

As I was approaching Cambridge Bay, I noticed there was a few buildings in the area...I was just hoping that one of them was a nice motel with a pub!  ;)
Image

Just over the numbers....notice the DAYLIGHT on the side of the Baron?!
Image

After getting her parked and shut down, I spotted the motel I was going to stay at because it even had a seperate pool  and jacuzzi tub attached at the end of it!!

Thanks for watching! Comments/Suggestions always welcome!

i'm on my way to the northpole with my fellow aero commander. still in germany at the moment, but preparing for the hop over the baltic sea to norway (or sweden), but i don't have plans for the rest of the trip yet. maybe greenland first, then to the north pole or directly from norway to the pole, but this will be difficult...

p.s: of course,i'll post the pics of the trip in the forum.
