Yes, its nice when someone does one of the rarer planes. this one is for CFS2 but seems OK in FS9, although I can see that I need to do some work on the VC gauges.

Nice one Paul. I seem to remember this strange looking aircraft featured new-fangled construction methods of some chap named Barnes Neville Wallis.

PS. My old boss had a Morris 8 all the time I knew him. He swore by it & said they didn't make them like that any more. He drove me round the peri track of Shoreham Airport in it almost every day for 2 years. The owner of the motorcyle shop where I purchased my first bike often rode his own Brough Superior around my home town. Happy days.

You are right, I am oldish, but not that old  ;) . Having said that, they had quite a few nice Morris 8s at a classic car show that I attended locally recently. A lot easier to work on than some of today's new cars!

Thanks  :)  This particular one apparently depicts K7718 of No 47 Sqd Squadron code: KU Sep 1939 - Sep 1942. Re Wallis, I think that he got the idea from his previous work on airships.

Also, I am sure that you know, but the Wellesley held a world distance record of 7,157.7 miles which stood for eight years until 1946. Now maybe that's something to try out in FS2004....

oo it's not that ugly....nice details on the wings and engine.
But what are those black spots on top of the wings (somebody been wing-walking while the paint was still wet?) and what is in the pods under the wings?
btw those are serious questions. I am from '67, you see....

Thanks Paul. I report that it works quite nicely in FS2k2. The VC panel is nice but shows no guages. The 2d panel is a joy though. I had to put a darker prop.bmp on it to get it to show up but that is not unusual for Imported aircraft.

I was wondering though. That little rod that sticks out of the fuselage just below the bullseye. Is it like our old curb feelers on cars? If it starts a rubbin' ya know ya fergot to put the wheels down?

Well the pods under the wings are for bombs as these pictures show. If you use it in CFS2 then you can add bombs to the bomb-bays. The max bomb load was 2,000 lbs. As for the black spots on top of the wings, I believe that these are footprints which tell someone working on the aircraft where they can walk.

Hi Oso. I didn't try this aircraft myself as I'm not too keen on it. Maybe it uses CFS2 default gauges for the DVC. I thought most of these are already included with FS9. It's only a small download so maybe I will try it after all.

From what I can see in the shots the little rod is either a radio aerial mast or a footstep.

OK. I tried the Wellesley. It's a nice model but as you already discovered the DVC gauges don't display in FS9 for some reason. I don't know why as they are the same ones used on the 2d panel & the gauges are included with FS9.

It all works fine in CFS2 & displays better in outside views on my system. This might be due to the texture format.
