Slight Upgrade

Postby Scottler » Wed Aug 27, 2003 7:25 pm

For giggles tonight, I put F$98 back on my system.  I'd forgotten how bad it was in comparison to 2k2.

Here's the exact same  shot, with the exact same settings, on these two very different games.  Which is which?  You decide.

Here's the same shot from FS2004.

Now all we need is the same shot from FS2000 to complete the evolution of FS.

One thing I should point out, in order to be fair.

You'll notice that the tower is in a different location in 98 than it is in the others...this is not an accident.

In 1998, Albany International Airport received a brand new $70M+ terminal, and the tower was moved from the location you see it in 98 to is present day location.

This might also be partially responsible for the change in quality of the terminal.

Just a lil disclaimer here.  lol

Oh absolutely.  IMHO, if 98 hadn't been released, none of this would exist today.  There would have been no 2000, 2k2, CoF....

The reason M$ pursued an advanced line of programs (as opposed to the REALLY early versions of F$) was, I believe, the success of 98.  The success of 98, I believe, was a direct result of the realism that it contained...
