Wow.  Do you know in what Group or Air Force he flew in, or in which threater he fought in?

wow, HL-V is a scheme I was going to do on my first P-47 indoor flying model about 18 yrs ago....changed it for CP-D ....complete with damaged wing-tip from a nose-over landing as shown in Squadron Signals " P-47 in Action "..........

Wow, thats an amazing feat!  My grandfather served in the Korean War.  He didn't fly, he comanded a tank.  Fought for about 5 mouths and he got shot in the a$$.  They sent him home.

I don't know where that Jug served.  The only fighter squadron letter IDs I know are a couple of Thunderbolt Groups in the 8th, one in the 9th, and one Mustang outfit in the 8th.  Its not one of them.  Do you have any info on that plane?  I love these little tid bits.

No, no, I know about that bird, I was talking about the one Ken mentioned, CP-D.

I never knew more than four people here liked the Tbolt.  Most people think it looks fat and ugly, so they go for the sleeker and faster looking Stang or Spit.  As beautiful and as great fighters as they were, I'll always love the Jug.

I love this warbird!!!
it's powerful, biiiig (for that time), greast weapons (8machine guns .50) and what a manouverbility!!
only the landings are very complicated cos the long nose doesn't aloud to see the runway, it's "feeling" as my grandpa used to say....
proud of it!!! it's a incredible machine!

I know, its an amazing machine...Every person I've ever meet who has a thing for the 47 seems to have this great passion for the plane.

As a matter of fact, this triuvirat Spit, Hurri, Tempest were great!!! really great

but I do like this american triunvirat : F-4 Corsair; P-47 and the greatest of all time P-51!!!!!
