A day at Edwards AFB

Postby EricK » Tue Aug 12, 2003 12:13 am

Hi there,
I took the FSD T-38 Talon for a test flight after some effects upgrades (engine smoke, afterburner, flap vortecies, etc) Here are the pics.

1st is a shot taxiing out on the ramp
Image

2nd shot is of the engine smoke at full throttle just as the brakes are being released
Image

3rd shot is a high speed pass over the desert test area (notice the shuttle in the background)
Image

4th shot is another high speed pass but this time at about 20ft. Love the new wing tip vortecies and burner
Image

5th shot is slowing down to get into the pattern. Nice overview
Image

6th shot is the T-38 just before touch down. New flap vortecies are great
Image

7th shot is of some F-117 stealths on the ramp seen while taxiing
Image

8th shot is the T-38 shutting down in the hangar with a Joint Strike Fighter in the foreground

I guess it helps to sit in the back seat of a T-38 if you want to get security clearance to enter the X-35 hangar with a camera ?........cool !  8)

Nice photos....... ;D

Thanks for the replies,
I could not show all of the JSF in the last pic for...umm..reasons of national security!

Wait a minute I'm Canadian (don't tell anyone)

Thanks for the comment.
It's FS2002 and freeware scenery and plane.
Thanks

Great pics. 8)
Where did you get the scenery? I test all my USAF types at Edwards, and the default leaves a bit to be desired ::)

Hi there,
All of the scenery, including static aircraft, buildings, etc. is part of one package. It is available at avsim.com in the scenery section. Just search for Edwards AFB.

The FSD T-38 Talon is available at all the major sites. (flightsim.com, avsim.com and I think it is here as well) It is probably the best overall freeware fighter available with an honourable mention to the DSB Eurofighter Typhoon. Just my opinion!

The plane and scenery is top notch and I'm sure you will all find it no problem
