ACOF Caribbean Island Hopping

Postby Iroquois » Mon Aug 04, 2003 9:10 pm

I took these for thoes who still doubt ACOF. I decided to take my Curtiss Jenny out of the hanger and do some island hopping arround the Caribbean. My trip would take me from Grand Case St Martin to Basseterre St Kitts. Of course that's a long way in a biplane going at 60kts so my first leg of the journey would take me to St Martin's closest southern neighbour, St Bethemey. These screenshots were taken on my trip over water at dawn.

Another angle of the same view, this time from the cockpit.

Sunrise over the turquoise waters of St Bethemey. This one is my favorite.

Hard approach at St Bethemey. It doesn't look like it from here but I didn't see the airport until I was almost over top of it.

I flew the Jenny for the first time the other night and "Golly" is that thing ever slow....

Granted I didn't expect to get up to 100 kts.  I think my top speed was about 60 knts, if I remember correctly.
