June 6th 1944:  Part Une

Postby Whitey » Thu Jul 10, 2003 9:28 am

0500:  OK, old chaps, today is June 6th 1944.  Over night your Mosquito's have been painted with black and white stripes.  This to easily distinguish you from the enemy, so ourground forces don't attack you.

Today we start the mission to liberate France.  The army is on it's way over the English Channel right now, to assualt the beaches.  Your mission to fly over Utah beach and blow the hell out of the Hun's Invasion Defence units.  Cloud cover at Angels 6 and expect heavy flak over the target.  Other than that, this should be a milk run.

Take off is at 0600, get yourselfs ready.  And good luck.

O for Orange lined up and ready to go:

Not very stable when shot by anything. :P

But, it was too fast for most fighters...a Me110 could catch it with some NOx... ;)...but it wasn't used much as Hitler didn't want the Allies knowing he had it. ;)
