Rifleman... How can we possibly make a CFS3 aircraft without Winter Textures ;D as for the siren, that we actually over looked, so thanks for pointing that out ;)

Oh, and Angel_Maker, I guess we can get some beta testers for those that want to take it for a test spin ;)

as far as progress goes. We have finished converting our ju 87 B-2 into a Ju 87 D-3, and a Ju 87

Don't put the siren on the tank busting Stuka's. I don't think they had 'em. I'll check it out...

I thought it wasn't actually a siren but the wind "whisteling" from the dive brakes?

yes the earlier stukas have sirens mounted on thier gear to "intimidate" the enemy. However they took them off the reduce drag on an already slow bird. so i also dont think they had the siren on the G1 (tank buster)

Looking good!  But some picky questions from a picky person for the CFS3 version.  Will there be:

  • Customizeable color options (nose, wing, fuselage and tail?)
  • Customizeable Letters?
  • Nose Art?
  • Default CFS3 pilots used, not a gMax modeled one?
  • All stock animations (especially canopy)?
  • FPS Issues
    • Will textures be in one file, not amongst a whole lot?
    • How many polys compared to stock?

Ok, scorpion, I guess we can make customizable colors for our ju 87. The only thing I am concerned about customizable colors is that where ever the color is, is there a degrade in texture quality?. What I mean is are the rivets and weathering taken away?. However if every one wants to be able to customize the markings its not a very hard thing to do, and we can go ahead and do it.
If people do want us to make the customizable colors we will probably most likely make them in the following places; a stripe around the nose cowling, a stripe on the rear fuselage (as seen in pictures), a "V" shaped stripe on the left wing (as seen in pictures), and a stripe on the rudder control surface. If you have any objections just tell us ;)

Now, as for letters, we can definitely do that, we will probably put them on the rear fuselage, and maybe on gear skirts ???

Nose art we will also do for sure, but I don

Looking Better

Postby Scorpiоn » Wed Jul 02, 2003 7:38 pm

Sounds all the better!  You just don't know how enthusiastic I am about your aircraft!  The only way I'd care more if it was a Corsair! ;D What I meant by animations is if they're done right.  I hate it when you have to lower the flaps to open the canopy.  Or when the manual has an added bonus and tells you to press 'T' to activate that feature; I've completely customized every key command in CFS3, so very few of the kays are still at their original setting.  Anyway, it sounds like you guys are comin' along pretty well with her, and I can't wait for it to be released (although I'd rather wait than have a rushed product, like that B-1 that came out awhile ago).  As far as the colors go, I take it you mean this by nose and tail:
Image
If you prefer, you can always leave one out like Microsoft did (no fuselage color for the P-47D).  It's preferable all the color stripes (or whatever you want to call them) are there, but if they can't be implemanted well, then it's best to leave them out.  If this was my plane I'd definitely add the nose, wing and fuselage stripes, but I'd take a hard look at the tail.  And I must applaud you if you make the wing color that 'v' shape.  Color stripes that aren't straight have never been done before, and I've been wondering if anyone would ever do it.  At the rate good aircraft come out, I decided not to expect it, but you just never know what to expect. ;) Ever since the Groundcrew came out with the He. 111 for CFS2, I've been heralding them as the best design group out there; their planes are free and good, a combo not often seen.  Their recent release of a CFS3 Bf.110 only reaffirms my conviction.  I've long since thought no one could measure up to them, but it appears I'm wrong, this Stuka is seriously challenging their Zerstoerer.  One last note, as far as nose art goes, for the Stuka, I'd like to see this one (it was for the Tank Busters anyway).  I'd recomend it on the blue dot in the picture above, or on the rudder (As seen on the Hs. 129).

For the color stripes, that's exactly what I meant for the nose and tail. We have also decided that we are going to model in all of the color stripes, and I am almost positive that making the 'V' is possible, so you can expect it on the final model.

For the animations we have all animations using the stock key mapping.

As for the nose art, It will be no problem to add that tank buster one in, but just one question... what color do you want it painted, white?

Oh and trust me, not rushing this is far from the hard part, the hard part is keeping from adding on, and making the plane more complicated ::)

Again Thanks for all of your feedback on what you wanted, and for all of your enthusiastic support! ;)

Specifics

I'm looking in my World War II aircraft book (quite a hefty little thing) and to be historically correct, the tank art would need to be white.

It was just a suggestion, I know how much work a plane is.  The status of my Komet hasn't budged in a couple months.  Check you messages in a couple minutes. ;)
