F-18 Bengals

Postby EricK » Mon Jun 30, 2003 12:46 am

Hi
This is the latest screenshot of my latest plane. One of Dean Reimer's F-18s in the 'Bengals' livery. Shot over New Mexico. Good vapor trails!

Very nice shot mate, if it wasn't for the blocky M$ buildings at the bottom it could be a photo.

Hi there,
Thanks for the replies. It is freeware. It is at flightsim.com under the search for 'dean reimer'. It is the first plane on list if I can remember correctly.

I just wanted to add something about the paint scheme. It is indicated that it is an american squadron, but to the best of my knowledge, this is a fictional repaint in that respect. However, this is a real paint scheme for a 'canadian squadron'. The name of the exact squadron escapes me, but I have seen it at the local 'abbotsford airshow' a few years ago and there is a real photo of the actual plane somewhere on the aviation top 100 website. I'm almost certain the canadian squadron is called the 'Bengals', so it is possible the designer took some liberties and made it an american forces aircraft.
Thanks
Eric

No question that its Canadian aside from the nationality markings, as I know we are the only ones using the false canopy on the underside of the fuselage......

That CF-188 is from 439 "Tiger" Sqdn.

I was in Germany when it was painted for Tiger Meet.

There are some Marine units that are using, or have used, the false canopy.

Don't worry about it Rifleman. :)

After all I was there when the Hornet was painted in those colours...I probably know just a "bit" more than most about that bird. :)
