Yes the F/A-18A-F all have folding wings. Although the Navy no longer uses the A/B variant, I beleive NASA does though.

Wrong, the Alphas are coming back as the Charlies aren't holding up. Spain had recently procured the best of the Alpha lot. I wouldn't doubt that the Bravos will be seen again either.

Yeah, really, there are enough Canadian F-18's on the net.  Let us have some stars and stripes! ;) 'Seriously' though, MLK, you are doing a fantastic job, so take your time and don't rush it.  But sometime within the next two months would be nice!  What kind of poly count does it have?

The polygon count should be quite acceptable, I think. External model with gear down has cca 6500 polygons ( similar polycount has e.g. default FS2002 planes ) and internal model ( 3D cockpit ) has cca 3500 polygons ( including some parts and effects from external model, which are visible from the cockpit ).

A perfect FS plane could be quite subjective thing, couldn't? :-)

My model of course won't be perfect for everyone.
And how about some flight characteristic in your list?
This is also importatnt for me.

Pilot's head moves with rudder movement in this version.

And here are several screenshots, which I created for you. From close look the textures aren't of course so sharp, but too high texture resolution isn't much optimal IMHO. I would like to have my models reasonably balanced.

Here are thumbnails:

And here are the originals, 1280x1204, non modified raw screenshots:

Have some patience and you will try it yourself soon :-)

I guess that was the catch.  I can settle for that right now, since you can't eject in FS.  I still says it looks good.

Slider, don't worry about CAF colours, maybe I'll do it myself. And if not, I'm also working on "repaint kit" with texture templates, so someone could create it easily then.

Milan,

Congrats on the bambino, how are the sleepless nights effecting you?

The '18 looks great so far, how are the afterburners controlled?
In those shots it looks like you are on approach with the 'dirty' configuration but the afterburners are still blazing away. Are they assigned to the throttle or are they selectable via a light switch?

Looking beautiful all the same!

Good luck with her!

:D

Thanks for your congratulations, my nights aren't so bad as I expected initially :-)

The afterburner effect is controlled by engine RPM.
( and it's not static but has dynamic animation, which looks quite interesting, I hope - you can hardly see it from this static screenshot unfortunately )
It's showing up on the screenshots above, just to be visible on screenshots and for your pleasure :-)
