Turbojet Powered B-29

Postby jocool » Tue Apr 22, 2003 2:20 am

I downloaded Grahams B-29 source and put 6 4000lb thrust turbojets on it.If the war had gone on the airforce might have done this to have a jet powered heavy bomber.Max speed is 408 mph.

Thanks guys,as far as the way she handles she is a bit sluggish in turns but I suspect it would be that way in real life.

There actually was an bomber like that. In the late 50's Orenda Engines put two turbojets onto a Lancaster. The so called "super-lanc" was quite fast and got some head turns from a USAF airbase in upstate New York. It was destroyed in a Hanger fire before the company went under.
