going mad in a spitfire...

Postby ATI_7500 » Thu Mar 20, 2003 9:44 am

hi buds!

after downloading that excellent spitfire, i wanted to try that out ,what you're always doin' .
so i fired up FS ,loaded the default flight and changed the a/c. but suddenly a strange feeling came up,the so-called ozzysian disease, which forced me to go through every opening in that town. here you can see the results:

Image
nothing exceptional,just for warming up.

Image
still not challenging.

let's get a bit closer...

Image
the highlight:straight through the antennas of the sears tower!
yeeehaw!

Image
euh...*whistles*...it wasn't me...heh heh...but..if someone could give me a few lessons in landing a spit,i'd appreciate that... ;D

hey what about using this thread for posting your spitfire-stunt pics? i already have the suitable title...;)

Nice shots, but you do need to practice your landings ;)

Some good flying there ATI, pity about the landing, the trick is NOT to touch the brakes above 40knts, or you do nose over. Drop the flaps all the way and kiss the tarmac as level as possible at about 100-120 knts and close the throttle. When the tail settles naturally you should be able to use the brakes ;)

Ozzy

PS. I'll post something later.

Welcome to the "Mad Spitfire Club". Most of my Spitfire landings end up like that (I have a habit of coming in way too fast!) ;D
