What goes up....

What goes up, must come down......for good :'(

I visited the Air and Space museum in Chantilly VA last Sunday. Very interesting and I got quite a kick out of seeing her. I never though that I would ever stand next to a real Space Shuttle. One thing came to mind though, rather agricultural in construction I thought. I was was expecting something streamlined and slick. I was very surprised at how un-aerodynamic she is/was. However the concept worked and worked well, 39 successful missions in over 27 years of service. As of yet I have not seen any Space Shuttle picture posts, so........

I was just at NASA Ames where the shuttle was tested in the 120x80ft. wind tunnel.  It was astonishing.  Got to love the shuttle!

I have a whole load more, but had to thin them out around 99% to post. I think my wife had looked around the whole museum in the time that I just photographed Discovery....... ;D ;D

Visited the Air & Space Museum several times in the past, but sadly have not been able to get to Dulles to see Discovery yet. :-/
