Good Afternoon all... :)

Just a little time on my hands so I posted these shots of a .................. ;D

Unlike most aircraft designs, the aircraft was first fitted with floats, then skis and, finally, fixed landing gear.

The final design layout looked much like Noorduyn's earlier Fokker designs, it was a high-wing braced monoplane with an all-welded steel tubing fuselage structure and wood stringers applied to it for the attachment of a fabric skin. The aircrafts wing had an all wood construction and was fabric covered, except for the flaps and ailerons, which were made of welded steel tubing. It had a divided type landing gear fitted to fuselage stubs, the legs were secured with two bolts each to allow the alternate arrangement of floats or skis. The tail wheel strut could be fitted with a wheel or tail skid

The above aircraft flew at a Seaplane/Floatplane gathering last week on the television series "Ice Pilots".... ;)

Comments and advice most welcome... ;)

It's a Norseman.

I have a repaint of Joe's Norseman for fs2004 that works in fsx. I think I downloaded it from flightsim.com. ;)

I love the radial... It would make other planes cry... I was taxing behind one in my friends plane, and it misfired and it sounded like an up close gunshot

That ones a beauty, Doug. I have never been in a plane that was radial powered yet. It's on my bucket list though.

Thanks for the comment... :)

I sat BEHIND AND BETWEEN large radials for most of my flying career... :)

Yes they do have a sound all their own.

At the end of the long hot summers of Swamping (Float Flying) I would return home broke...dad and grandpa would just laugh.

Ah yes, but you were richer in spirit... or something like that.  ;D
Some pilots would pay to spend a summer doing that kind of flying, sow bellies and all!  ;D

Good old Norseman... aka "the other one"...  8-)

Thanks Sean... :)

I bet you remember the days of the Hotel Men's Rooms where draft beer was always cold and plentiful.

There was always peanuts on each table and for years they gave chicken wings away at night for free... ;)

Draft Beer, salt and free chicken wings...what a diet... ;D

They did away with the Mens Only Rooms back in the eighties and the price of draft beer now is something like $2.30+ a glass... :P

I do remember working out of town and coming back without two pennies to rub together. I came to Canada about 5 years before the old Hotels began changing so I got to sit in quite a few. In Ontario you couldn't buy a drink on Sundays and quite a few hotels were required to close between 5 and 7pm to force the men to go home for supper. (I suppose). What really happened was we just went to the bootleggers and bought it anyway.  :D All of the old Hotels in my town are gone now, or renovated into shops and condos.

Interesting...got your PM also Steve... :)

Oh for the good old days.... :)

In the country they used to close the Legion at six o'clock and reopen at seven o'clock so the farmers would go home and milk the cows... ;D

It was a different time, when rules were made for women and children, and then they got wise to us. So many deep discussions came from those tables, so many dreams and promises, business deals and friendships. When a man got home his wife was sure to set him straight.  8-) Sorry, I got off topic. Again. ;)

;) LOL

Before I got married a long long long time ago... ;D

I sat on our tractor with a cold beer in my hand and tried to weigh the advantages of being married versus staying single.

Well one beer led to another.

Guess I forgot to factor in the:
Cold Draft Beer, the salt, the peanuts and the Free Chicken Wings...EH... ;D
