Aerial Shots

Postby G.K. » Wed Jan 25, 2012 2:21 pm

Here's a scanned shot taken in 1992, Hastings pier, now sadly completely burned out.
I met my Wife at a rock gig in the ballroom in 1975, still going strong. Some fantastic bands used to play here, Stones, Floyd, Who, Genesis and many more.

I hired a Cessna (with pilot) at Headcorn airfield and then sold the resulting photos with the aim of covering the costs.....I actually made a few quid on the expedition :).

These photos have become more popular as they have gotten older.

Waspi:
Hastings isn't everyones cup of tea, glad you enjoyed it though.

Thanks Trucker.

Steve:
The Pier is the only aerial shot I have in my flickr account, I did have more but someone downloaded one and started using it commercially without permission so I removed the others. Glad you enjoyed the Wave shot, I used photoshop to increase the contrasts, it was a bit grey on grey otherwise. Also levelled and cropped in PS. The wave is crashing into Hastings harbour arm, this arm protects the fishing fleet which is the biggest beach launched fleet in Europe......You're not the first person to say there's an image bye the way :).
