Two for one?

Well recently I was thinking about dumping my 18-55mm and 55-200 lenses from canon and just going for the Tamron 28-300 lens instead, has anyone tried this lens or recommends it, since it would make photography a bit easier when I don't need to constantly be changing lenses?
