Well, today was one of those good days at work

When you get to work at 7:45, and then get a call at 8 saying 'You want to go up for a flight on a Sovereign?', it's gotta be a good day, right?

Hmm, someone asks if I want to get paid to go for a 2 hour flight on an $18,000,000 business jet, what do I answer?  HECK YES!

Here's some pics, taken from my phone so they are terrible.

This thing is a ROCKET!  We were taxiing, I was chatting with my co worker, who was facing backwards (the tail).  I noticed us turning onto the runway then all of sudden WHOOSH, shoved to the back of the seat.  Both of us were shocked at how quiet it was: we could hold a conversation at normal level sitting across the aisle and club from each other, at full throttle.

Next thing you know, he's hanging from his seatbelt as we climb out.  Took no time to altitude.  This was over Oklahoma I believe.

Passed a Southwest 737, we were at FL410, I guess it was down around FL360.  It's hard to see, but it's near the center, slightly off the right.

This was our flight, we followed the dotted line back

This was one fast, high, and cold office 8-)

Thats all I have for pics.  As we returned, the pilots were checking some stuff so they were diving (literally, at least 30 degree nose down) and deploying gear, spoilers, etc.  The speedbrakes are interesting.  When deployed, you don't notice much beyond a little vibration and a slowing sensation, but when retracted the lift gradient is intense.

We got really slow, nearly stalled, then sped up.  My co-worker, who flies, went up to talk to the pilots for a minute, then came clambering back and quickly buckled his seat belt and goes 'They're gonna do a stall'.  My seatbelt was on (the seatbelt sign wasn't, go figure ::)).  Pilot puts down the gear, slows down.  Next thing you know you here the stick shakers, then feel the buffet, then the siren, then the plane just DROPS it's nose and rolls HARD right.  It was terrifying!  That's a sizeable plane, not something you'd expect!  Hopefully that's the last time I experience a stall in something that large!

All in all, a good day.  Sorry for the crappy pics, if I had more than 10 minutes notice I could have brought a camera.  Although that is one nice thing about a biz jet.  10 minute heads up, go to the hangar, board the plane and go!  No taking off shoes* (*I did have to take off shoes to not scuff the carpet :P

Hope you've enjoyed!

A while back, my dad went to a party up in McCall Idaho, and his corporate buddy picked us up in his Citation X.  THAT WAS AWESOME :D :D :D

My only "corporate experience", riding in a G-IV from the runway to the ramp as a fire watch after they reported smoke in the cabin on landing and evacuated on the runway.  Probably will be the only time I get to ride on a private jet.

No.  Citation X can't go supersonic, even in a dive.  Or at least not in one piece

No.
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
