Camera Advice

I saw this in an ad for $99, is this a good camera, and will it take good photos of aircraft flying at airshows?

I don't know a whole lot about camera's but I wouldn't hop on this deal. I have never had good experiences with Kodak's camera's.  ;) The specs look pretty good. But the camera itself looks kinda cheap. Again, I am not an expert at camera's, just know a little!  ;)

It seems like it may be a reasonable camera, but always always always try before you buy. The numbers alone can't tell you everything about how the camera works and how the images turn out.

The only aviation photo I could see was This One, which was also taken on that camera. But check out This Webpage to see examples from that camera.

The zoom might be just a little bit short. It is a 350mm equivalent on a 35mm sensor, but my lens is up to 480mm equivalent and at times I find that's too short at an air show.

For the price, yeah it seems like it is quite good. But get a feel for the camera before you buy it. Test each ISO mode (as some cameras obliterate the images at high ISO), test the zoom, focusing, etc.

350mm is enough for an airshow, everyone always wants more, but 350 is enough  ;)

I've used the Kodak easy share series and they aren't bad. But they aren't great either. They do allow manual control but it isn't the easiest to use. Also the quality isn't that great. I don't know how serious you are about photography, but this will get the job done for a fairly reasonable price.

Seems pretty good, don't have much experience with Kodak, I use a Canon.
Personally I recommend the Canon Powershot SX10 IS.
It can take a picture at full zoom and it'll look crystal clear on a 52 inch TV. The only complaint that I have is sometimes the sky or solid colors in the background will have a bit of noise, if you put it on auto it'll usually solve it.
It works for me!

My mom had that camera because they showed it on tv and she just had to have it.  It was pretty good, but you get like 3min to a battery... ::)

Thanks for the input guys!
I don't think I'll get it.
Thud, the SX10 looks awesome, but it's a little bit outside my price range. :-/
