Goodly morning all... :)

Wonderful shots Mitch...very nice.

The pictures of the old "Pig Boat" Consolidated Catalina/Canso/PBY5A brought back a few memories.

Thankyou for the wonderful piece of history there Doug, glad they brought back some memories. :)

but why the neptune being promoted?

The Neptune has been growing on me the last couple of weeks, helped by the fact that I'm currently building a 1/72 scalde model. Also bought a book, you may have seen in Leigh, its Neptune in Australian Service by Stewart Wilson. Wonderful insight into the working life of this aircraft and provides info on all the different systems used, specifications, interesting facts, history and some great pictures. This truly was a magnificent aircraft and could out-turn fighter aircraft of the time, it had great agility for its size. Love it. 8-) 8-)

There's a static Neptune sitting at the gate of my old base in Hawaii, crazy looking plane with jets and propellers haha!  I have never witnessed one that was still in service, must have been a site to see!
