Boxing Day.........

Postby Rifleman » Sun Dec 27, 2009 2:03 am

With heavy overcast today in town, Wendy and I took a run to winter and got above the clouds.....our town is down below the sea of clouds, right in the middle here..........

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

A second image from up top, looking down on our favourite summer motorcycling jaunt.........the snowcaps you see in the distance are part of the Coastal Mountain Range on the mainland, and show how far off shore our island paradise really is.

Wonderful location Ken... ;)

Still no snow here now, the rain took most of it away with the exception of a tad bit in the woods.   :'(

It does not feel like Christmas without three or four feet of snow, the more the better.

Canadian Forces Search and Rescue have been busy with fools who have been going out on the ice near the mouth of the river and the bay wanting to ice fish.  Some even took an ice hut out already.  I can't see the ice being more than an inch thick with all the mild weather and rain we have had.

The river where we are is still open and flowing quite fast, the early mornings we will see a skimmer of thin ice but certainly not thick enough to walk on.  As kids and I am sure you will remember we used to call it "rubber ice" and we all tried to run across it without going through.   ;D

Again great shots... ;)

I'm inching ever closer to deciding where my final residence will be. My heart still belongs to a Great Lakes area.. but this is a strong argument for the Pacific Northwest  :)
