Start of the Wet Season

Postby glennlcasey » Fri Nov 06, 2009 6:40 pm

Hi there,

well November heralded the start of the wet season here in the Pilbara where i work. With this comes kick ass storms. Theses photos were of the last two nights up here. Due to safety, we had to stay around our crib hut, so we were stood down until the storm passed.

Hopefully gonna try and get out a bit further sometime soon and not get the plant or the workshop areas in the shots hope you enjoy. BTW the storms here were about 20km away.

Compression took its toll on these pics, but the full size pics are beautiful

The first night. the storm came in from the north and drifted to the west

[color=#000000]Uh, what's with the UFO in the center just above the brightest light in #1; up high and slightly left in #2 (looks like an upside down capsule; and peeking out from behind the clouds, just above and to the right in #3?

Thanks for the comments fellas really appreciate it.

Patch: That was lens flare. I got a new lens and with or without the uv filter i still got that bit of flare. anyone know how to correct it?

The last 3 are really excellent.

I think the only way to correct it is to avoid shooting directly into a bright light source. By that I mean the brilliant lights in the centre of the shot & not the lightning.

Outstanding shots!!

Three minutes, was that for each picture? Also what F shop and film speed did you use?
